Also the eligible countries are counted when they sent less people to the USA within the last 5 years. Countries like India, Philippines, Vietnam, Brazil and Pakistan are ineligible as they do send more than 50,000 people to the USA within the last 5 years.
Apart from the country eligibility those who want to participate in this limited time program must have the minimum education level of successfully completed high school certificate with the required compulsory subjects or 2 years of work experience within the last 5 years in an occupation after learning/practicing it for a period of 2 years. Take note those profession must come in the Job Zone 4 or 5, classified in (SVP) range of 7.0 or higher.

If you have the required eligibility requirements you can submit only one entry for this fiscal year program DV 2012 along with your recently taken digital photo file before the closing date.

An eligible married person must include details and individual digital photo files of his spouse and all their children who are unmarried and under the age of 21 even if the children are not living them or not intended to travel to the USA with the primary applicant. Children who already have American citizen or LPR holders in the USA are not to be included in the entry.

An eligible spouse too can submit one entry for the entire family if meet the required eligibility requirements.

After the entry submission period is over the computers in the KCC will select nearly 100,000 as selectees and will allow them to proceed with the winning. Take note winning this visa lottery will not give you the visas right away but will allow you to apply for it following the normal procedures.

The DV 2012 program started to provide application forms through the internet from 5th of October 2010 and was closed on 3rd November 2010. After this date no one will be able to submit entries for this DV-2012 year visa lottery program. To apply for the next visa lottery program, you have to wait till October 2012.

This time the application period is made in to 30 days only instead of 60 days. So if you are eligible to participate in this program, it is better to submit your entry as early as possible to avoid the big rush near to the closing date. In those days you will not be able to download the application forms. Even if you got it and when you submit it after filling, you may get the message saying server not found.

In this free to submit form there will be no place for signature as was in the paper entry.

If you are regularly participating in this program, this year's visa lottery program there is not much change from the last year one. Photo scanning resolution is changed from 150 dpi to 300 dpi. In the past the selected people got their winning notifications through the regular postal mail from the KCC. In this 2014 fiscal year program the entire dv applicant's must log in to the official web site to view their selection result from May 2013 till June 2014.

Take note that the KCC will not send any winning notifications through postal mail, email, and fax or over the phone. If you got any winning notifications in this way double check it as it may be from your agent. Any how you will not pay any money till your visa interview date. Only you will pay money on the date of your interview to the US Embassy or consular office personally.

This visa lottery program is seen as a gift from the God for the third world country people who are looking to immigrate to the USA legally, to have good life there with less educational qualification, within less time and with fewer expenses. All of the African countries born people are eligible to participate in this visa lottery program if they meet the education / work experience. Many of them had already immigrated to the USA benefiting this computer random selection in the past years.

Fiscal year 2012 program is calling the selected winners for the interview according to their case number order from October 2011 and will be closed on 30th September 2012. Those winners in the USA can contact the USCIS office to change their current status to LPR when their case numbers are current.
