DV-2012 visa lottery program which did attract millions of people from all over the world was closed officially on 30th September 2012. This program provides a clean path for to immigrate to the USA. The participants can immigrate to the USA, within short time with less cost, if they have all the required eligibility and the luck to be selected in the computer name selection. American Government don't charge any money from the participants when they are submitting the online application forms. But those winners must pay the visa processing fees when they are going for the interview.
Annual Program
American Government offers 50,000 LPR to natives from eligible courtiers. It is conducted by the U.S Government to keep the diversity of its people. For this they allow eligible people to participate in this diversity visa lottery program from countries which are sending less people to the U.S.A.

DV 2014 visa lottery program started to provide application forms through the internet from October 2, 2012 and after 30days it was closed on November 3, 2012. No one will be permitted to submit entries for the system as the web site is now closed to accept entries. DV 2014 Results will be published by May 2013.
Next DV Lottery.
The next visa lottery program will bear the name as DV-2015. To apply for the next lotto dv-2015, you have to visit the State department web site where the application forms are expected to be available in this year for 30 days period. A person is allowed to submit only one entry for this fiscal year program in any given year.
Eligible Natives
The eligible natives mean those people who were born in those countries that are listed eligible by the State Department regardless of which country citizenship that they are holding now. Also the eligible countries must have sent less people to the USA within the last 5 years. Countries like India,
Bangladesh, Philippines, Vietnam, Brazil and Pakistan are ineligible as they had sent more than 50,000 people to the USA within the last 5 years.
Requirements
Apart from the country eligibility those who want to participate in this limited time program must have the minimum education level of successfully completed high school certificate with the required compulsory subjects or must have 2 years of work experience within the last 5 years in an occupation after learning/practicing it for a period of 2 years. Take note those profession must come in the Job Zone 4 or 5, classified in (SVP) range of 7.0 or higher.
Family Members
An eligible married person must include details and individual digital photo files of his/her spouse and all their children who are unmarried and under the age of 21 even if the children are not living with them or not intended to travel to the USA with the primary applicant.
Winner Selection
After the entry submission period is over the computers in the KCC will select nearly 100,000 as selectees and will allow them to proceed with the winning. Take note winning a slot in this will not give you the visas instantly but will allow you to apply for it following the normal procedures. Also yomust attend the visa interview where the American diversity visa processing fee is US$ 330 per person. Once received the entry permit they have to pay another US$ 165 before they depart to the USA.

Future of the DV Lottery.
Although the Senate house has passed a bill to abolish the Green card lottery, future of the DV Lottery program is hanging on the decision by the Congress of the United State where President Office likes to support the DV program to continue according to available reports.
