DV 2010 visa lottery program is operated by the U.S Government to issue 50,000 immigrant visas for the eligible people in the fiscal year 2010. KCC is the department which is operating the DV 2010 U.S Visa lottery under the supervision of the U.S State department. KCC runs the electronic entry process, computer random selection of the DV Lottery winners and informing them of the selection and of the visa interview.
DV 2010 visa lottery program did accepted entries for a period of 60 days from October 2, 2008 till December 1, 2008. In this given registration period nearly 13.6 million entries were accepted to participate in the DV 2010 visa lottery program. About 102,800 applicants were selected through the computer random selection from those registered applications and were notified through normal postal mail from the month of May 2009 till the end of July 2009 with further instructions on how to proceed with the green card visa lottery selection. The entire DV-2012 applicants can check their status online to see whether they are selected for the program or not in the online web site from 1st July 2009 till 30th June 2010 with their confirmation number and personal information.
From 1st October 2009 those selected people were called for the immigrant visa interviews to proof their eligibility and to get their visas according to their case numbers. This process will continue till the visas exhaust or till the 30th September 2010 which is the official closing date for the DV 2010 greencard lottery program. Those winners who are in the USA can contact the USCIS office to change their status to the LPR status when their case numbers are current during this period. After this period no one can benefit from the winning of DV-2010 USA visa lottery.
